Golden Delicious are a true legacy apple, having been grown in the U.S. for over 100 years. This chance seedling was at one time the 2nd highest selling apple in the U.S. Prized by cooks because the flesh is slow to brown, Goldens have been a favorite for apple desserts. The unique flesh and texture of Goldens holds up well to heat and the gentle acidity lends complexity to pies, sauces and crisps.
